Laser Hair Removal for Red Hair

Laser Hair Removal is more advanced and more popular than ever before, but there is still a large portion of the population for whom these treatments can prove quite a bit trickier. Usually those with fair skin and dark hair have the best results from laser hair removal. This obviously poses issues for redheads and fair skinned blonds. However, there are some options for redheads who are seeking a hair removal procedure.

The reason redheads can have difficulty getting results from laser hair removal is because they lack pigment in their hair. The pigment is what absorbs the laser during the treatment, and without enough pigment, the laser may not be as effective. That being said, recent improvements in laser technology have made laser hair removal more of an effective treatment for everyone, including those with blonde, grey, and red hair.

For redheads, it is important to discuss your laser hair removal treatment with your practitioner before committing to a laser session.
