In the latest revealing episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, media darlings Khloe and Kim Kardashian visited Laser Away in Los Angeles, CA, for laser hair removal for their legs and bikini area – and they didn’t leave the cameras behind! It was Khloe’s first laser hair removal treatment, though her sister Kim has a well-publicized history of laser hair removal.
"I am Armenian, so of course I am obsessed with laser hair removal! "Kim told Allure magazine in this month’s issue. "Arms, bikini, legs, underarms-- my entire body is hairless. "
No matter how smooth and hairless Kim Kardashian is, most people wouldn’t dream of having their laser hair removal treatments broadcast on cable television, let alone for the bikini area. But, Kim and Khloe seem to have no problem with it. As if to show just how willing they are to bare it all on camera, Khloe received laser hair removal on the bikini area while her sister Kim sat nearby and commented on the tolerable appearance of her… nether regions.
"You have a better, like, looking vagina than I thought, " said Kim.
"What? What did you think my vagina was going to look like? " Khloe responded.
"I don’t know, I never looked at your vagina, " said Kim. "I thought it was, like, a shaved, rashy vagina. "
Yes, suffice it to say you can’t get dialogue like that on the Kardashians’ Sunday night TV counterpart Mad Men (you know, the one that wins all the Emmys but gets far fewer viewers). But hey, one thing’s for sure, Khloe’s bikini area’s going to be smooth and hairless after a few more laser treatments. More importantly, in their own way, Kim and Khloe might be providing an educational service of sorts to viewers interested in their own hair removal options.
All joking aside, bikini hair removal is one of the most common areas for women (and men) to receive laser hair removal these days, so it’s good to see the Kardashians having such fun with it. Laser hair removal is steadily gaining popularity each year, and it’s not just for Hollywood’s elite. Nobody wants to be embarrassed by unsightly hair at the beach, and none of the alternative treatments stack up to laser hair removal over the long haul. It’s safe, easy, effective, relatively painless, and increasingly affordable for any budget. More importantly, unlike shaving or waxing, laser hair removal’s results can last for years.
Not surprisingly, this laser hair removal episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians wasn’t the first time the sisters’ personal experiences with cosmetic treatments were aired on TV, though it was Khloe’s first time under the laser. In 2008, Kim wrote on her blog about how she was undergoing Velashape body contouring treatments with American Laser Centers for cellulite removal, and even showed one of the sessions on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. She’s also been tied to rumors of breast augmentation surgery and butt implants for years.
As for admirers of Kim's smooth skin, the prospect of never having to deal with razor burns or the pain of waxing is a powerful reason to consider laser hair removal, yourself. Among the most common areas for laser hair removal are the legs, bikini, underarms and face (Kim Kardashian has admitted to having all those areas treated, and more). Due to the nature of today’s lasers, though, not everyone is a candidate for laser hair removal, and for those that are, multiple treatments are necessary to get lasting results. A private consultation is the best way to find out if laser hair removal is an option for you.
While we won’t go so far as to say that Khloe and Kim Kardashian are great role models to live by, we certainly agree that, when it comes to cosmetic treatments, they know their stuff.
